The Kampur Story
The story of Kampur is inherently our narrative as the founders. We are a Kenyan-Asian couple who live and breathe safaris and immersive experiences around Africa.
How did we start?
Kampur Travel Diaries was born out of a merging our love of travelling around East Africa and more importantly, it gave us the means to carry on the programs that benefit local communities, help in reforesting Kenya and support conservation.
What started out as a simple travel blog (if you know, you know), has now evolved into a full time endeavour of designing personalised, often life-changing journeys (safaris) for our guests where they immerse themselves in the beauty of Africa: the people, culture, history, food, landscapes and of course not forgetting the diverse incredible wildlife.
The safaris that our guests embark on in turn leave a lasting positive impact on the places they visit through our continuing programs in education, conservation, reforestation and youth and women empowerment. Our driving force is to ensure that all our guests not only get to fully experience the magical wonders of Africa, but that they also learn to appreciate different cultures and traditions and understand the importance and ways in which they can help in conservation of our planet.

Having been brought up in Kenya, we have been travelling since we were kids. As we said, safari is in our blood. When we are not in the office creating your next dream escape, we are out in the field ensuring that the destinations, activities and the properties that we recommend for your visit are matched to your personalised requirements. We have visited and experienced over 350 properties in East Africa which means that we have in-depth knowledge of the places that you will visit.
Going on safari can be a minefield to navigate if you try and do it yourself.
With our vast expertise, we simply take this headache off your hands, and organize everything from the time you arrive till the time you depart so that you just need to concentrate on the most important thing – having fun and enjoying yourself. We look after the small details so that you can fully unwind with no stress.

A bit more about the team...
Kamal has always loved being in outdoor spaces and truly believes that you grow as a person when there are no walls confining you. A former Kenyan International swimmer, he has travelled extensively around Eastern and Southern Africa and has a special interest in exploring off the beaten track places. He is a qualified Safari Guide and manages the daily operations of the business. He is passionate about experiential travel and wants our guests to see Africa in a unique way.
Purvi’s passion for travel was fuelled from the road trips and visits to national parks around Kenya with her family as a child. Some of her earliest memories are watching elephants at a salt lick in the Aberdares. During her university years, she travelled extensively around Europe, USA, South America and Australia, but there was always a great pull to return home. Her soul would always be in Africa. Her passion is to get you to feel the beautiful energy that makes up the diverse countries of Africa so special. She is a qualified tour consultant and specialises in the little details that make your safari exceptional.
The backbone of our operations are our office team and our exceptional safari guides, who will lead your safaris and give you an unrivalled experience of East Africa.
